Our project moves along the lines of post- punk/darkwave but seeks to break apart their compositional clichés to create a visceral, deep, and layered sound.

This creates a hive-like structure of relationships that not only increases our chances of survival but also gives meaning to our existence. However, this natural impulse conflicts with the way certain societal systems, like capitalism, operate. Capitalism rewards individual success at the expense of the collective, glorifies profit above all else, and forces us to rationalize our emotional and physical resources in pursuit of the relentless pace of the Western lifestyle.

As a result, human relationships often lose their deeper significance, becoming mere tools for personal gain or ego gratification. This theme is central to Hobbsend's music, where lyrics explore social issues and provide vivid snapshots of everyday life.

Their debut single, It Does Not Work, features two tracks that address the emptiness of personal relationships in today's world and the desire to challenge the system. With assertive vocals, swirling bass lines, noise rock-inspired guitar jabs and an electronic rhythm section informed by late '80s industrial music, this release captures the essence of Hobbsend's unique sound.
